Ms. Annamaria Minicozzi

Consultant Colorectal Surgeon

Ms. Annamaria Minicozzi is a highly respected Consultant Colorectal, Robotic and Peritoneal Surgeon at the Royal London Hospital (Barts Health NHS Trust) and a Clinical Reader in Colorectal Surgery at the Blizard Institute, Queen Mary University of London. She leads colorectal cancer surgery, the colorectal cancer multidisciplinary team (MDT), and established the Multidisciplinary Peritoneal Oncology service at Barts in 2020.

With extensive international training, Ms. Minicozzi completed her higher surgical qualifications at Verona University Hospital, followed by two prestigious fellowships:

  • An International Colorectal Surgical Oncology Fellowship in Organ Preservation/“Watch & Wait” for rectal cancer in São Paulo, Brazil
  • A further fellowship in advanced and recurrent rectal cancer at the Karolinska Hospital in Stockholm, Sweden

She obtained her PhD in 2010 for pioneering work in multimodal imaging in colorectal cancer and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2014. Her dedication to advancing colorectal care earned her the International Paul Harris Fellowship Award, recognising her commitment to service and the development of London’s first HIPEC service.
