Mr. Mansoor Akhtar is currently working as a Consultant Surgeon with a colorectal specialty Interest at East Kent Hospitals Universities NHS Foundation Trust.

He qualified from the King Edward Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan in 1995. He has gained surgical experience as a postgraduate trainee in Pakistan before moving to the Republic of Ireland where he completed his basic surgical training and acquired membership of Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He moved to the UK for acquiring further surgical experience in General Surgery and Coloproctology. He passed intercollegiate FRCS with a colorectal sub-specialty interest in 2011 and became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Mr Akhtar was appointed as locum Consultant Surgeon in 2014 at Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital, Margate Kent in South East. He has been awarded entry into a GMC specialist register in 2019.

Mr. Akhtar has acquired more than 20 years of experience in General surgery with extensive operative experience in emergency and elective surgical conditions. He also gained more than 13 years of experience in advanced laparoscopic procedures for colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease. He provides treatment for general surgical conditions including a variety of hernias, gall bladder operations, and coloproctology procedures including haemorrhoids, anal fistulas, anal fissure and rectal prolapse etc. He also provides management for complex diverticular disease and inflammatory bowel disease requiring operative interventions.

He has excellent outcomes for his patients and believes in working with his patient as a team.
