I am very much interested in the appropriate management of haemorrhoids (piles) and other conditions of the back passage.  The symptoms from problems of the back passage, can often be a source of significant distress in people’s day to day lives.  This is also an area of clinical practice that is poorly understood and poorly managed by clinicians in general, making the situation worse for patients.

I have been involved with electrotherapy for treating haemorrhoidal symptoms for some time now and have seen the difference the treatment makes to patient’s symptoms first-hand.  For suitable patients, this is an effective treatment with very little disruption to working lives, and I continue to devote a part of my time to use this technique to help people with their chronic haemorrhoidal symptoms.
